Writing together

Write one book together, at the same time.

Share a project with a friend as a co-writer and you both write in it at once, in the same binder, on the same pages. It works like sitting at one desk: you see where they are and what they’re writing as they write it.

Their caret, with their name

Each co-writer's caret glides as they type, with their pen name on a small flag that tucks away when they pause. Their selections show in their color.

Words arrive in their ink

What a co-writer has just written appears in their color and dries into the page within a moment, so you can see what's new without hunting for it.

Find each other

Co-writers' avatars sit in the header; click one to go to where they are. A bead on each binder page shows who's on it.

The whole project is shared, live

  • The binder, synopses, story bible and comments all stay in step for everyone in the room.
  • Two people changing different things never overwrite each other, and each writer has their own undo.
  • The room keeps anything not yet saved, even if every browser closes, and saves to the owner’s account as usual.
  • Each writer’s words are credited to them, for their own streak, keepsakes and challenges.

The book stays yours

Co-writers find the project under Shared with you. Only the owner shares it, publishes it, renames it or moves it to the trash. Removing a co-writer, or blocking them, closes their connection at once.
